BPGS Construction Celebrates John Groth’s 20-Year Anniversary
March 26, 2026 8:45 pmBPGS Construction is proud to recognize John Groth, Executive Vice President of Development and Construction, as he celebrates 20 years with the organization. Over the past two decades, John has played a key role in delivering complex projects, shaping BPGS’ culture, supporting the company’s continued growth, and helping to elevate the next generation of leaders and professionals within the field.
A Natural Fit from the Start
John’s path to BPGS Construction began well before officially joining the team. Starting in 1998, he worked alongside Buccini Pollin Group on 1000 N West, formerly the Brandywine Building. Over the next several years, he contributed to projects including 221 W Tenth (formerly Nemours Building), The Residences at Rodney Square, and The Residences at Christina Landing. At the time, the organization was still small, but the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of the team stood out to him. When the opportunity came to join full-time, he saw it as a chance to leverage his skills as a builder while also gaining exposure to the development side of the business.
An Adaptive Industry Perspective
Over the course of his career, John has seen the work evolve, with technology having the greatest impact. During his 20-year tenure, he’s observed the shifting balance between traditional master skills and emerging technology. Through that shift, he has remained focused on delivering quality projects, maintaining strong fundamentals, and adapting to new standards.
Always Focused on the People
While John has contributed to a number of impactful projects, he points to the people as the most rewarding part of his work. Helping associates grow, both professionally and personally, stands out as his proudest accomplishment and continues to shape his leadership approach. What continues to drive John is the energy of development and construction. With constant movement and opportunity, the work offers a fast-paced environment where teams can make a real impact every day. He encourages those entering the field to stay humble, treat others the way they want to be treated, and make at least one person smile every day.
Looking Ahead
John is excited about the future of BPGS Construction and the strength of its next generation of leadership. He sees a team well-positioned to take on new challenges while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit and close-knit culture that first drew him to the organization.
Congratulations to John Groth on his 20-year milestone and his continued leadership and commitment.
