BPGS Construction Honored with Two DCA Construction Excellence Awards

We received two prestigious awards at the recent DCA Construction Excellence Awards. These honors celebrate our team’s dedication to quality, innovative projects and commitment to shaping outstanding spaces.
Union Yards: A Hub of Industrial Charm
Union Yards secured the Construction Excellence General Building under $5M award. This project transformed a historic industrial warehouse in Chester, PA, into a vibrant pre- and post-game tailgate destination for the Philadelphia Union and their fans. Our team meticulously restored its industrial character. We implemented exposed original trusses and polished concrete floors. Nine large glass garage doors create an open, inviting atmosphere. The complex renovation showcases our problem-solving skills and adaptive reuse expertise. We successfully addressed structural and waterproofing challenges. The project finished in under five months, a testament to the efficiency of BPGS teams.
The Press: Downtown Living Redefined
Our second accolade, Construction Excellence Residential, recognized The Press. This new development in downtown Wilmington, revitalized the former site of The News Journal HQ. The Press offers sophisticated urban living, blending a 14-story tower with a four-story building of flats and townhomes. The design respects the scale of the neighboring context, creating a natural yet distinct landmark. Duplex units feature charming front stoops, while brick façade ensures durability and energy efficiency. Residents enjoy luxurious amenities that include a private pool, fitness center, and dog park. The Press also features EV charging stations. This project raises the bar and redefines modern residential construction in Wilmington.
